Sarebbe stato MJF a chiedere di anticipare il match contro Kenny Omega a AEW Beach Break, invece di aspettare il PPV di AEW Redemption.
Questa settimana è stata molto importante non solo per la WWE, ma anche per la AEW. Nell’ultima puntata di RAW, infatti, CM Punk è diventato il nuovo Undisputed WWE Champion, dopo aver sconfitto Sami Zayn nel match di ritorno. Nell’ultimo episodio speciale di AEW Dynamite: Beach Break, invece, Kenny Omega è diventato il nuovo AEW World Champion.
Secondo quanto riportato dal Wrestling Observer, il terzo match tra MJF e Kenny Omega era in realtà in programma per la prima storica edizione di AEW Redemption. Sarebbe stato lo stesso Maxwell Jacob Friedman a spingere per anticipare l’incontro titolato, così da poterlo trasmettere durante una puntata televisiva. L’idea ha ricevuto l’approvazione di Tony Khan, che, secondo il Wrestling Observer, avrebbe dunque già qualcosa di importante in serbo per il PPV di AEW Redemption, in programma il 26 luglio.
