Emergono degli indizi per quanto riguarda il futuro dello show WWE dedicato al Regno Unito, NXT UK: come andrà a finire?
NXT UK, il brand della WWE dedicato al Regno Unito, è ormai fermo da mesi. L’emergenza Coronavirus ha costretto la compagnia di Stamford ad interrompere lo show del roster britannico che, però, va ancora in onda settimanalmente sul WWE Network con degli speciali “Best Of” preparati dalla compagnia.
NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin si sarebbe dovuto disputare lo scorso 26 aprile ma è slittato di qualche mese ed è al momento programmato per il prossimo 25 ottobre alla 3 Arena di Dublino.
Come se la pandemia non fosse abbastanza, a rincarare la dose ci si sono messe le varie accuse di violenza ed abusi sessuali ricevuti dai wrestler del roster di NXT UK come ad esempio Travis Banks, El Ligero, Joe Coffey e tanti altri.
Presto si tornerà a lottare?
Negli ultimi mesi si sono susseguite diverse voci riguardo un possibile stop di NXT UK, con una WWE che sembrava intenzionata ad abbandonare il progetto in favore di NXT Japan.
Arrivano, però, delle importanti novità per quanto riguarda il futuro del brand: la federazione di Vince McMahon, infatti, ha registrato due marchi all’USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office): “Heritage Cup” e “NXT UK Herirtage Cup”.
“Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fans; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
Questo, dunque, potrebbe far pensare ad un possibile torneo in vista per quanto riguarda il roster di NXT UK e ad un conseguente ritorno in scena per gli atleti del brand.
