“Menzione per David Starr”. In diversi Indy Wrestler Of The Week ho riportato frasi simili. Ma stavolta era un classico “ora o mai più”. Perché stavolta non è la solita quantità di match di livello. Questa volta, The Product è l’assoluto protagonista del wrestling indy. La vittoria più importante, in apertura di settimana, è ovviamente quella del Super Strong Style 16. Arrivato in finale vincendo il Three Way contro Ilja Dragunov ed il suo sfidante ai quarti (con il quale ha pareggiato) Travis Banks, ha poi sconfitto Jordan Devlin, proveniente dalla vittoria con l’ospite Kyle O’Reilly.

Giorno finale del Super Strong Style con tanto altro.
La PROGRESS, per concludere il grande evento, ha proposto una card appetibilissima. Oltre alla cavalcata di David Starr, da menzionare l’opener. Risultato importante per Chris Brookes, che si impone su nomi quali Artemis Spencer, Chris Ridgeway, Connor Mills, Darby Allin, DJ Z, Lucky Kid, Roy Johnson, The OJMO e Trevor Lee. Gli Aussie Open (ormai neanche ci spendo più parole per loro) mantengono contro AeroStar e Daga, idem Jordynne Grace contro Session Moth Martina, Millie McKenzie e Nina Samuels. Ma tutto passa in secondo piano se paragonato al match che ha provocato maggiori emozioni e sensazioni: l’addio di Jimmy Havoc, destinazione AEW. Prima di andarsene, ha regalato tutto sé stesso al suo pubblico, perdendo quantità ingenti di sangue nel suo match contro Paul Robinson e per questo venendo, felicemente, trasportato in ospedale. Grazie Jimmy.

Tornando a David Starr: la sua settimana è lungi dal termine.
Nonostante il grande successo ed altri match di grande importanza, la settimana non risulta più tanto felice per The Product. Nel Main Event di RPW Epic Encounter 2019, perde il titolo Cruiserweight contro El Phantasmo dopo ben 364 giorni, un anno quasi intero con anche una difesa in Italia, in un TLC Match.

Per concludere, viaggio oltreoceano, negli Stati Uniti.
Nel Main Event di AAW Take No Prisoners, ha tentato l’assalto al titolo Heavyweight detenuto da Sami Callihan, non riuscendo però ad aggiudicarsi neanche questa contesa.

Nonostante le tante sconfitte, la vittoria del Super Strong Style è la coronazione dei tanti sacrifici e delle scelte controverse fatte in questi anni. Indy Wrestler Of The Week meritato in pieno.
